Family HealthCare is looking to add a Full Time Provider to our team!

Position Summary

The Physician will provide a wide range of family-focused health care services to patients of all ages, including infants, adolescents, adults, and seniors. This position diagnoses and treats acute, episodic, or chronic illness, both independently as well as in conjunction with a healthcare team.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Educate patients about self-management of acute or chronic illnesses, tailoring instructions to patients' individual circumstances.
  • Counsel patients about drug regimens and possible side effects or interactions with other substances such as food supplements, over-the-counter (OTC) medications, or herbal remedies.
  • Order, perform, or interpret the results of diagnostic tests, such as complete blood counts (CBCs), electrocardiograms (EKGs), and radiographs (x-rays).
  • Analyze and interpret patients' histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses.
  • Diagnose or treat acute health care problems such as illnesses, infections, or injuries.
  • Diagnose or treat chronic health care problems such as high blood pressure and diabetes.
  • Diagnose or treat complex, unstable, comorbid, episodic, or emergency conditions in collaboration with other health care providers as necessary.
  • Consult with or refer patients to appropriate specialists when conditions exceed the scope of practice or expertise.
  • Prescribe medications based on efficacy, safety, and cost as legally authorized.
  • Provide patients with information needed to promote health, reduce risk factors, or prevent disease or disability.
  • Recommend diagnostic or therapeutic interventions with attention to safety, cost, invasiveness, simplicity, acceptability, adherence, and efficacy.
  • Recommend interventions to modify behavior associated with health risks.
  • Prescribe medication dosages, routes, and frequencies based on patient characteristics such as age and gender.
  • Advocate for accessible health care that minimizes environmental health risks.
  • Support the organization as needed
  • Performs other duties as requested
  • Participates in departmental or organizational meetings and trainings
  • Demonstrates ability to use equipment relevant to the position

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures.

License, Registration, and/or Certification

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible
  • Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances
  • Current certification in CPR or ability to become certified within 90 days of hire date.

Typical Physical Demands/Work Environment

Occasional standing, walking, lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending and stooping. Talking, typing, hearing/listening, seeing/observing. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer, telephone and other office equipment.

Indoors, Environmentally Controlled. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Sedentary to light work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary to light work involves sitting approximately 75% of the time. Also, involves exerting up to 25 pounds of force intermittently or up to 50 pounds of force infrequently.

Family Health Care requires that all employees provide vaccination dates and/or have titers drawn within 7 days of their date of hire. Noncompliance may result in an unpaid leave until this requirement has been met.

  • Mumps, Measles, Rubella (MMR) – Employees must have documentation of 2 MMR vaccination dates or evidence of immunity with positive antibody titer results. If employee declines indicated vaccination, signature to decline vaccine is required.
  • Varicella – Employees must have either had disease or provide documentation of having 2 Varicella vaccination dates or titer results. If employee declines indicated vaccination, signature to decline vaccine is required.
  • Hepatitis B – Employees who perform tasks requiring exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials, will be offered the Hepatitis B vaccine free of cost within 10 working days of employment. If employee declines indicated vaccination, signature to decline vaccine is required.
  • Influenza – This vaccination is required and will be provided free of charge to all employees. Employees wishing to decline the vaccination must formally decline the vaccination by filling out a declination form.
  • SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19- This vaccination is required and will be provided free of charge to all employees. New hires are required to be 'fully vaccinated' within 8 weeks of hire.
  • Tdap or TD - This vaccination is not required but is highly recommended. The Tdap is provided free of charge to employees who provide direct patient care.
